December 31 is the single hardest hire day to book late. Not because we're stretched — because you can't retrofit a party's atmosphere from empty patio chairs after 9pm.
Festoon + fairy lighting
The difference between an okay NYE and a great one is lighting. Warm-white festoon strings, fairy lights on the marquee, uplights on the bar. Ambient, photo-friendly, works from twilight to countdown.
Countdown-friendly PA + screens
TVs or projector rigs for watching the Sydney fireworks + Melbourne stream, PA to hear the countdown at the back of the yard. Both are standard NYE add-ons for us.
Jan 1 pack-down (not the same night)
Standard NYE pack-down is between 10am and 2pm on Jan 1. Same-night pack-down available for an additional fee if the venue needs it. Sleep in first, then we take everything away.

When should I book NYE hire?
October is the safe window. September if you want your pick of dance floors and marquee sizes. Same-week NYE bookings are usually impossible — everything's already assigned by mid-November.
Do you deliver on New Year's Eve itself?
Yes — usually morning-of or early afternoon so setup's done by cocktail hour. Preferred setups are locked in during December for exactly this reason.
What time do you pack down after NYE?
Standard is Jan 1 between 10am and 2pm — you sleep in, we come collect. Same-night pack-down (12:30am–2am) available for private venues that need everything gone, at additional cost.
Big-screen for the fireworks?
Yes — TVs, projector-and-screen combos, plus PA so the countdown announcer isn't drowned out by the crowd. Very popular NYE add-on. Also works for the Sydney fireworks broadcast at 9pm on Melbourne time.
Dance floor for NYE?
Common request. 12–20sqm floors for 40–80 guests; 25sqm+ for bigger. Fully assembled dance floors delivered flat, ready to go, gone Jan 1.
What if the weather turns?
Late December weather in Melbourne swings from perfect to storming with no warning. Marquee coverage is essential insurance for outdoor NYE — even if the forecast looks bluebird when you book, it costs nothing to have the option.
