How much lead time do I need to book?
For Saturday nights October–March, 6–8 weeks is safe. Off-peak weekends or midweek 18ths we can often turn around in 2–4 weeks. Tell us your date and we'll be honest about availability.
Is this different from 21st party hire?
Similar equipment mix, but 18ths tend to have more parental involvement, more variety in guest ages, and sometimes tighter budgets. We size and price differently based on the vibe you're going for.
Can we set up a bar area for controlled service?
Yes — a proper bar setup with under-bench storage, glass racks and ice tubs makes controlled service easier. Popular for 18ths where the parents are hosting and want alcohol served, not free-flowing at a fridge.
Backyard or hall for an 18th?
Both work well. Backyard 18ths of 40–80 guests are very common with a 6m × 6m or 6m × 12m marquee. Hall 18ths for 100+ guests get dance floors + festoon lighting + PA. Tell us the venue in your enquiry.
Photo backdrops?
Yes — floral panels, custom lettering, or neutral fabric backdrops. Good for 18ths where the photos are half the point.
What about neighbours / noise?
Council residential noise curfews are usually 10–11pm across most Melbourne suburbs. A Friday or Saturday party ending by 11:30pm-ish keeps the neighbours onside. We can't help with the noise itself but we've helped a lot of families think through the setup.
